Generic video conference

The generic video-conference connector is an alternative to the Jitsi integration for a video bridge that signs in with a username and password rather than a JWT. You point VoxaLink at the bridge's endpoint and supply those credentials, and the portal's video-conference action then launches a room on that server. Like the Jitsi connector, this is a video-conferencing setup, not a contact-lookup one.

If you don't already run a username/password video bridge of your own, the Jitsi connector is usually the simpler choice.

Before you connect

• A video bridge you can reach, that accepts username-and-password authentication.
• The bridge's endpoint and a set of credentials (username and password) for VoxaLink to use.

Connect the generic video conference in VoxaLink

1. Open Admin → CRM Integrations and find the generic Video Conference option under Video Conferencing.
2. Click Configure. In the dialog:
   • Apply to — All accounts (tenant-wide), or a single permission group.
   • Video conference URL — your bridge's address.
   • Username and Password — the credentials VoxaLink should use.
3. Click Save.

Troubleshooting

• A room won't launch — confirm the bridge endpoint and the username/password in Configure are correct, and that the bridge is reachable.
• Not sure which connector to use — if your bridge uses JWT rather than a username and password, use the Jitsi connector instead.
